How to Install Magic Keys with cTrader on MacOS

 

Step 1: Download the Required Files

1. Go to the Magic Keys download center (refer to your instructions card for access).
2. Download:
   • Magic Keys application for MacOS from this link: Download Magic Keys App MacOS
   • cTrader Integration Files from this link: Download cTrader 2.3.2.

Step 2: Install Magic Keys Application

1. Open the Magic Keys setup file for MacOS.
2. Follow the installation wizard to complete the process.
3. After installation, open the application.
4. Plug in the USB receiver for the physical device into your Mac’s USB port (if applicable).

Step 3: Prepare the cTrader Integration Files

1. Locate the cTrader+2.3.2.zip file you downloaded.
2. Unzip the file, and navigate to the folder.
3. Inside, you will find the Magic Keys Bot and Magic Keys Indicator files.

Step 4: Add Files to cTrader

1. Open cTrader on your Mac and navigate to the Automate tab.
2. Double click on the Magic Keys Bot and Magic Key Indicator from the cTrader+2.3.2.zip folder that you have previously unzip
3. Allow the requested permissions when prompted.

Step 5: Set Up the Magic Keys Bot

1. Under the cBots section in the Automate tab, locate the Magic Keys Bot.
2. Click the + icon to create a new bot instance on a random instrument.
3. Run the bot by pressing the Play button.
   • Ensure you only have one Magic Keys bot instance running at a time.
4. To prevent the bot from stopping when the platform restarts:
   • Go to cTrader Settings.
   • Select Startup and enable the Single Instance and Auto-Restart cBots options.

Step 6: Add the Magic Keys Indicator to Charts

1. Switch to the Trade tab in cTrader.
2. Open the chart you want to trade on.
3. Add the Magic Keys Custom Indicator to the chart.
4. Adjust the input parameters as needed and confirm.

Step 7: Using Magic Keys with cTrader

1. To target a specific chart, click on it. The selected chart will show double parallel lines in the top-right corner.
2. Ensure the Noon Key is active (identified by a blue LED on the physical device, if applicable).
3. Press Open Calc to start trading.
   • If prompted by your firewall, allow Magic Keys for inter-process communication.

Important Notes

• Partial TP/SL Triggers: These triggers are shared across charts with the same symbol. If the same trade is visible on multiple charts, triggers may activate multiple times.
• Restarting cTrader: As long as you don’t close the charts, the Magic Keys indicator will automatically restart with the platform.
